A TEAM EFFORT!!!
On Saturday 26th April, we started The Potty Club, a twice-a-year gathering for folks to share knowledge and tips on gardening, to enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of cake, and to raise funds for our chosen charity of the year: Hillingdon Women’s Centre. It was a great event, with many coming to show support and to learn some new things about gardening and plants. However, even with a throng of people at S. Mary’s enjoying cake and chatting over the different plants and flowers, there were still many left – it was now time for our neighbours and friends to step in to help get the plants to new homes!

The children, were amazing and enjoyed selling the plants, they found a megaphone and shouted out , ” Please buy our plants, plants for sale, £1 a plant, take your pick” – they had so much fun, and loved the responsibility
They got involved in counting money and handling money – the confidence in talking to adults not known to them, obviously with supervision was so good to see.
Parents feedback was positive and full of praise. Also, I am so pleased some of them walked over in person earlier today to deliver the funds raised.

The children truly enjoyed this new experience, and with their incredible help, a total of £403 was raised to go towards our charity of choice: Hillingdon Women’s Centre
A wonderful day, made even better by a wonderful team effort – thank you Ruislip Stars Nursery!
The 2nd Potty Club event will take place near Harvest Season – do keep your eyes on our Church Calendar for details to be published in the future…
