S. Mary’s Church has been a beacon of hope in the community since 1959. Sadly, in 2019, the Church had to close because asbestos was identified on the ceiling. During it’s removal, structural issues were also identified which needed urgently addressing.
5 years later, much of the works have been completed, and S. Mary’s is once again a safe place to worship – and marked with a grand re-opening ceremony, with installation of our Fifth Vicar.
The black & white photograph shows S. Mary’s at it’s consecration. The gallery below are photographs taken from the grand re-opening ceremony on 7th June 2024.
